Let's hear it for the Women
We are more than half of the world's population. Nations of the world, "Ur doin it Wrong!"
I always fantasize that if women were in charge things wouldn't be so heated in the war department, but everytime a women seems to get elected, she tries to one up the guys in her war-fanaticism. I guess my wish is that women become more confident in their own skin...perhaps take a lesson or two from Michelle Obama?
Michelle Obama is a fantastic role model, especial for girls and young women. My personal hero is Vandana Shiva - as I have said before. Navdanya and Diverse Women for Diversity seems such a wonderful focus, the antithesis of the war fanaticism you mention.
Every year our community radio station runs a whole day of Women's Day programming, and a few years ago some high school girls got to interview Wangari Maathai for it because she was in town accepting an honorary degree.
Agreed. She is another international hero. I have been thinking of her lately because I hope to be planting some fruit trees in my driveway and in the community parking lot. Plus, several of us want to plant 10 free trees in the land adjacent to the train tracks. Our community has been up in arms over trees for several months. If I start blogging again, trees may well be a theme.
