Nothing I'd planned at the onset of 2009 has turned out as intended. I am even thinking the hiatus might last all of this year. What I am attempting is for me a transformative step up and out of my world of thought to a world of action. There I said it. So, I am reluctant to drift back into mind-mode just yet. We shall see.
But, I hope you might take a few minutes for some more wise words. Mark my words, Van Jones will be one of the greatest leaders this country has ever witnessed.

i watched van already this morning thru my email. wonderful, wonderful speech about a new, improved vision, a better "story" for us all to imagine and create when we are so desperately in need of a story that works. so much of what he said resonates deeply within and connects to all i've been reading, hearing and feeling lately. i was so thrilled to hear his words about not stopping with just a "green economy". that a greener economy is just the beginning.

Becky, I received the email and thought his speech needed to be embedded here. I read somewhere that Van Jones has studied the speeches of recognized leaders. This community organizer has done all of his homework. And, as you say the message is the real deal, deeper than a solar panel. He channels our lives, human lives and civilization.
kate, you are exactly right in the use of that word "channels". i didn't know about his study of the speeches of others, but you reminded me that when i watched him speak this morning i was moved at one point by a strong realization that others were channeling through him. so glad you shared the speech by embedding it here.

I saw him speak recently. An amazing speaker, really knows how to get a crowd going. I hope you are right, that he becomes an important leader.
