katecontinued shared her 2008 challenge to live a sustainable life with austerity, authority and artistry. 2009 . . . let the sun shine! . . . redirection of energy to the outside.
This is a great idea, and one that I want to try. I have a bedroom window this would be perfect for. Assuming the cats leave the box alone once I've set it up. They're very serious about the window sill in question being their spot. Lives have been lost over this sill.Wish it would snow . . .
Thom, I am going to have to make an adjustment to those dimensions so that mine doesn't block the entire window. Might I suggest you leave the cat sunbathing zone open? Just use the area of the window +/_ 10" above sill open. Ya' think?
I thought about that, but I wonder what effect it would have on the heat conduction. Isn't 10" a third of the box's length? Still and all, losing a bit of conduction would be worth not being killed in my sleep.Still no snow. Still not happy about it.
What a great idea. I don't think it would work in my house because I do not have enough exposure to any of my windows. Have you tried it yet?roseretired
I have some foam core out in the shed, but I haven't assembled it yet.Last night was the first time I turned on my heater, so I will be more inclined to get on it. We are going to have 3 really chilly nights.
